Ordafy POS & Till Overview for Local Businesses
Run in-person sales with Ordafy POS: shared catalogue, till carts, Tap to Pay, and handoff to Pay links—built for UK shops and service counters alike.
POS is the counter surface of the same business
Ordafy POS is not a separate product island. It sells from the catalogue you manage in Business, so prices and stock stay aligned with Shop.
What you can do at the till
- Search products and build carts
- Take card-present payments with Stripe on supported flows
- Use Tap to Pay on mobile where enabled
- Hand off to Ordafy Pay links when the customer pays remotely
- Work within shift / register practices your organisation configures
Who should staff the till
Invite Team members with SALES or other appropriate roles. Keep bank and Connect changes away from counter logins.
Where to open POS
Use the POS till dashboard (/pos/dashboard/till) when you are ready to sell in person. Walkthrough: Tap to Pay on mobile.
Omnichannel habits that prevent chaos
Update Inventory after deliveries, avoid duplicate manual price lists, and train staff to prefer the till over informal cash notebooks when cards are involved.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need Shop to use POS?
You need an Ordafy organisation and catalogue. Shop is the online discovery channel; POS is in-person. Many providers use both.
Are POS fees the same as Shop?
Processing rates can differ for in-person payments, and Shop marketplace commission applies to marketplace-originated sales. See Pricing.
Can I send a Pay link from the counter?
Yes—when someone cannot pay on the spot, Pay links keep the payment on Ordafy rails. Read payment links guide.
