Using the POS Till: In-Store Sales on Ordafy
Run counter sales on the Ordafy POS till: open the till workspace, take payments, apply promos, and sync sales with Business orders.
What the POS till is
Ordafy POS (/pos/dashboard/till) is your in-store sales workspace—not an event door scanner. Staff ring up products, apply promo or instant discounts where allowed, take card or cash according to your setup, and keep counter sales aligned with Business records.
Step 1: Open the till
- Sign in to Business with a user who has POS access.
- Open POS (
/pos/dashboard/till). - Confirm the correct organisation and catalogue are loaded.
Step 2: Build a basket
Search or tap products, set quantities and variants, and review the running total. Use promo codes or instant discounts only when your role and Marketing rules allow it.
Step 3: Take payment
Complete card (including Tap to Pay where enabled on supported devices) or record cash/other methods your organisation supports. Card acceptance requires completed Stripe Connect payout setup.
Step 4: After the sale
- Receipt / confirmation for the customer where available
- Stock movement reflected in Inventory
- Sale visible alongside other commerce in Orders / financial views
Step 5: When to use Pay links instead
For remote collection without a till, use Payment Links (/pay/dashboard). Keep till work for face-to-face sales.
Frequently asked questions
Is this for checking tickets at a door?
No. Ordafy POS is a retail/service till. Use Orders and Bookings status for fulfilment and appointment ops—not festival entry scanning.
Till user cannot charge cards?
Confirm payout onboarding is complete, the device supports your card path, and the user has POS permission.
